About this wine
Anaba has a long history of crafting port-style wines, with a focus on balance, texture and the natural character of the fruit. This Syrah is made to be indulgent without being overly sweet, offering just enough sweetness to bring the evening to a satisfying close.
Seductive aromatics of black cherry, muddled raspberry and violets are supported by notes of clove and subtle oak. Lingering flavors of black currant, blood orange and marionberry unfold across the palate, complemented by a touch of cedar. Elegant and velvety with a long, lingering finish, this port-style wine is delightful after dinner with bleu cheese, salted nuts or dark chocolate, or simply enjoyed on its own.
The Syrah for this port-style wine is grown at an elevation of 850 feet on a very steep, east-facing slope of Sonoma Mountain. The vineyard’s elevation and exposure, combined with the character of the vintage, allowed for slow ripening, resulting in a wine of elegance and depth.
